Emily Clancy grew up in Baltimore and upstate NY and has called Greensboro home since
2001. She's a comic artist since 2018 and a web analyst and mother as well. Markers, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, pencil and pen, and collage are fair game in abstracts and studies of spaces, people, and animals.
Emily tries to carry forward the beauty and humor she sees in the simple, routine, and bleak. Sometimes she works directly from photos. Other work is driven from a sense of poetry or from epiphanies; unique arrangements may be coming from a more cerebral place. She loves the methods of planning and practicing art, and delights as much in the setup as the execution.
