When writing a fictional story, many times the work will take on it's own life with small details going in surprising directions, even giving birth to new characters. As the writer I am along for the ride not fully in control of the narrative. I love that!
For the OM series or Ostensibly Minimal it is similar. It just happens. I'm hellbent on creating something with LOTS of colors or depth or whatever else. But - like OM#1- the visuals hit my eye and the painting said 'it's done, don't add anything more'. I wanted to add much more but I just couldn't. As you can see, my paintings exert their own level of control during creation which dictates what they become.
