MessageI am an artist and a dance therapist. I studied art at FIU Hamburg/Germany, further studies with Markus Lüpertz and Jens Hasenberg.
Growing up in Spain and Germany, I studied graphic design and dance & movement with Suprapto Suryodarmo, a Javanese dancer and Performance artist, as well as Butoh dance and Contact Improvisation. After some years of performing, I eventually became a dance therapist and counselor, a field in which I worked for many years.
My son was born in 1998.
I have lived in the U.S., Spain and Germany.
From 2007 to 2014 I founded and managed the LOTUS Centre for dance and creativity.
In 2015 I decided to go back to school to fulfill another passion of mine, and so I studied art at FIU Free International University in Hamburg, Germany. FIU was founded by students of Joseph Beuys.
2016-2017 one year artprogram with Markus Lüpertz at ADBK Kolbermoor near Munich/Germany.
Currently I am studying in the masterclass of Jens Hasenberg.
I am living a nomad life between Hamburg/Germany and Ibiza/Spain.

My process of painting is about allowing the subconscious to express. I tend to seek the raw and instinctive path. The human figure with its gestures, human emotion and relationships is my strongest inspiration. Working as a dancer and therapist refined my perception of physical expression, sensing the emotion and the potential behind movements and gestures. I also draw a lot of inspiration from nature.
Painting for me is both about consciously using technique as well as losing control in the course of creating. I am drawn to expressive physicality, strong colors, lots of layering and abstraction while mixing techniques and styles to create a work that springs from the inner necessity to be open for the moment.
In my search for authentic expression I am beginning to understand that the essence of painting is found within the unsaid, abstract and unplanned while working consciously with realistic elements, as well as composition and color.
I get excited when I don’t quite know how a painting is going to evolve, actually I like to interact with the piece of work and be surprised by the process of painting. I enjoy to leave a painting at a point where questions are still open and the viewer is left with his own imagination.
